Man Manages to Walk Away from Robbers Trying to Steal His Wallet Outside Applebee's on Ygnacio Valley

Police are looking for three men who on Thursday night attempted to rob a man outside the Applebee's restaurant in the parking lot of the Encina Grande shopping center off Ygnacio Valley Boulevard.

According to a press release from Lt. Tim Barrett, three suspects, all dressed in dark clothing, approached the victim at about 9:55 p.m. as he was getting into his car parked near the restaurant. One of the suspects asked the victim for his wallet and simulated holding a pistol. The victim was able to walk away and call 911. The suspects jumped into a dark-colored, four-door car with tinted windows, similar to a 1990s Ford Taurus.

Two of the suspects are described as African-American males; one is in his mid-30s with a goatee; the second in his '20s, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. There was no description of the third suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Walnut Creek Police Department at (925) 943-5844.
