Do all WC residents have to pay for both of these taxes?
Way to go voters. This was a needed parcel. My 8 year old Thanks You! Walnut Creek Rocks!
Anon 7:14,
The approved parcel taxes only apply to property owners that reside within the Acalanes and Walnut Creeek school districts. Many residents in east and northwest Walnut Creek reside in the Mt. Diablo school district and are not affected. If you voted in the election and Measures G and/or H were on your ballot, you are affected.
Excellent! No, continued excellent schools for Walnut Creek.
Congrats to WC and Lamorinda!
The good guys won big-time?
Cool!
Now I hope our students and teachers take full advantage of the funding and support of the voters.
It was interesting to hear the radio news reports today saying that Californians in one city after another voted FOR tax and bond measures to help their schools. Even though financially strapped themselves and in many cases fearing for their own jobs and economic futures, individuals came out to the polls in support of children, schools and communities, knowing all too well that the Governator and California legislators have left local communities in the lurch big-time fiscally speaking.
Speaking for myself, I don't have kids and am a single-earner in a condo that's lost a shocking amount of its value, but I still decided to vote for both taxes. If we don't support education, what good are we as a society?
