Walnut Creek man found dead in Lafayette

Blogger friend, the East Bay Daze is reporting that a 26-year-old Walnut Creek man was found dead in some bushes adjacent to a home in the 800 block of Moraga Road Wednesday.

The body of Michael McDowell was discovered at 3:11 p.m. by a resident. There were no signs of foul play, and he was known to have some health problems. It's also not known what he was doing in the area, Contra Costa Sheriff's Department spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

Does no one care that this young man is dead?

I do and I pray for his family and friends as they deal with this tradegy.

No matter the circumstances, rest in peace Michael.

Mike was a kind and caring person. I remember when he was a freshman at Acalanes Highschool, He was running circles around all of the jr. varsity players, including me. He was a very talented young man and will be missed.

Dear Readers, and to friends and family of Michael,
I'm very sorry about this. Acalanes? I graduated from there myself. But some years before Michael did.
Just to let you know, I would be happy to write more... About him, who he was. Or if someone else who knows him wants to write something, I would be honored to publish it.

Michael was one of my best friends. He was an amazing person and friend. He had his own troubles he battled with but he never let those problems get inbetween our friendship. He was one of the most honest and open people I knew. He was never afraid to be himself whether you liked it or not. One of the realest human beings I have ever met. I knew he was one of my best friends no matter what happened to us, no matter how long a break in seeing or talking to him. I knew who he was and I knew he knew who I was. I had complete trust in Mike. One of the very few human beings I have experienced that with.

Hello there,
I did an updated post on Mike. Basically, I quoted from the obituary that appeared in the Times and Chronicle, but also mention the organizations to which the family requests donations be made.

Thanks everyone for sharing your memories of Mike. I'm sorry again.

This is terribly sad. I never knew Michael, but I knew his Dad a long time ago. Sounds like Michael was a great young man. I have a baby boy. I'm going to go in his nursery now and hold him for a while. Profound condolences to Michael's friends and family.
