Daffy day in the rain: Pretty daffodils make my afternoon during an errand through Lafayette

Sure, it might still officially be winter, and a storm moved through the Bay Area Friday, but there were other signs of spring. And, yes, they involved bright yellow flowers.

(But I guess these daffodils, planted at the entrance of Lafayette's Happy Valley Road, are actually wanted, as opposed to the evil Yellow Star Thistle, a non-native, invasive weed that is the subject of an eradication effort in Shell Ridge Open Space, as I chronicled earlier today.)

It's Ireland season in the Bay Area. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

SM, These are so pretty. Driving Northbound 680 from Alamo on the way back to Walnut Creek - have you ever seen giant patch of daffodils on the hillside? I always wonder, who plants those?
