Another news site is joining the landscape of online news sources in the East Bay suburbs. It will be Pleasant Hill Patch, covering, yes, the city of Pleasant Hill.
And it is coming from the same organization, the AOL-owned Patch company, that has brought you Walnut Creek Patch (my former stomping grounds) and Patches in neighboring Concord, Lamorinda, Danville and San Ramon.
According to my Patch source, the new Pleasant Hill Patch is scheduled to launch in late April. Like other Patch sites, this one will give you a place where you and your neighbors can discuss community events. Readers can also rate restaurants and other businesses, and businesses can "claim" their own listings.
Launching a Pleasant Hill site has been in the works for a while, since before I left Walnut Creek Patch. At one point, it was a matter of finding the right local editor for the position. No word on who the editor of this Patch will be.
Again, an ionteresting announcement for consumers of local news and those who watch the ever-evolving media landscape.
