Be on the look out! Goateed guy robs WC bank

Police are asking the public's help in finding this man. Just before 3 p.m. Friday, this 30ish guy, in sunglasses and baseball cap, entered the Guaranty Bank at 2536 North Main Street.

Sgt. Lanny Edwards says he showed the teller a note, which indicated that he was robbing the bank. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money. The robber fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Officers searched the surrounding areas for the man, but he was not located.

The robber didn't show a weapon, and no one was hurt.

The robber was further described as about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a stocky build, and sporting a brown crew cut, white T-shirt, and green jacket. He also spoke with a Latino accent.

Anyone who recognizes the man or knows anything about the case is asked to call the Walnut Creek Police Department at (925) 943-5844.

I live right down the street from this bank and it is not in downtown. It is next to OfficeMax and there are lots of houses just down the street.

If he robbed the bank, he would have had to run right in front of OfficeMax and be seen by tons of customers and employees. The parking lot is so crowded and difficult to get out of.

Yes, you're right. It's not near downtown. Thanks for that correction.

This is the most boring post I have seen from you. What do you think about it?

Man, it must be easier to rob a bank than one thinks. This guy didn't even show a weapon; he just showed a note? Must've been a helluva note!
