Police ask for help in locating missing Las Lomas High student

Walnut Creek police are asking for the public's help in locating Larissa Huntsman, a 16-year-old Las Lomas High student who was last seen leaving campus at about 1 p.m Friday.

Police don't suspect foul play but Huntsman has not been seen since, and it's not known whether she left campus on foot or was picked up by a vehicle. There is the additional concern that the girl has a medical condition, for which she needs to be taking medication daily. It is believed she is not taking her medication.

In an email to parents, Las Lomas principal Matt Campbell said the school, after verifying the student was missing Friday, immediately contacted Walnut Creek police.

"As a school, we take the utmost precautions to ensure a safe learning environment for our students," Campbell said. "While the investigation moves forward, the continued safety and security of students and staff remain a top priority."

Larissa Huntsman is described as 5 feet 3 inches and 125 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue v-neck shirt, blue jean shorts and blue sneakers.

Anyone with information about Huntsman’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Walnut Creek Police Department at (925) 943-5844.

Thank you for blogging on this. Larissa was a very nice girl and a fellow student of mine and I'm very, very worried about her. I hope they find her safe and sound very soon.
